Well, it’s been quite some time since I sat down and wrote a ‘proper’ blog. In fact, my writing has taken somewhat of a back seat in recent months. Not because I fell out of love with the blog, but because I wasn’t getting out and about to restaurants, events, weekends away etc the way I used to.
The reason- big, fat morning (noon and night) sickness! I was thrilled to discover I was pregnant in May and almost instantaneously, the sickness started. And on it went right up until about Week 26 (most people’s stop about Week 12) so I felt very aggrieved to have it for another 3 months!
So the last thing I wanted to do after finishing a day’s work was go out when in reality, I felt awful! Plus, it was the NI Year of Food and Drink and there were so many events I couldn’t attend because I was pregnant- beer launches, wine tasting, cheese nights (oh how I missed Brie!)…
But….it was all worth it in the end because on the 1st January 2017 at 1.10am, myself and my husband Barry welcomed little Niamh McCurdy into this world!
Weighing 6Ibs and 8oz, this wee one decided to come 2 weeks early! In fact, she wasn’t due until 14th January but ended up being the first girl born in Northern Ireland in 2017 just one hour after midnight….what an amazing thing to tell her when she’s older!
So, there will probably be less wine and cheese nights and more sleepless nights written about on the blog in the coming months, but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
