It had been a while since I’d been to the Lyric so I was really looking forward to seeing the production “Love or Money” as it opened its Northern Ireland run last week.
The play, by award-winning C21 theatre company, is currently touring NI right up until 12th March and tells the story of Belfast girl Eilish who is back in the dating game and trying to rebuild her law career after her break up with her husband.
As her work and her love life develops, coupled with a very demanding new boss, she realises she’s caught up in a world of hidden identity! (And, as the strap line says, “bras….lots of bras!”)
Now I don’t want to give too much away, but the play is a witty production, full of one-liners and ‘did they just say that?’ moments.
It’s the type of play that you will go to with your friends and come away laughing. It’s not really one for the men! If you want to check it out for yourself, there are still plenty of dates:
Saturday 5th March at 8pm – Roe Valley Arts Centre, Limavady
Tuesday 8th March at 8pm – Sean Hollywood Arts Centre, Newry
Wednesday 9th March at 8pm – The Playhouse, Derry
Thursday 10th March at 8pm – Market Place Theatre Studio, Armagh
Friday 11th March at 8pm – Down Arts Centre, Downpatrick
Saturday 12th March at 8pm – Island Arts Centre, Lisburn
