For the last two years I’d looked at pictures on Facebook and Twitter of the Festival of Light at Mount Stewart and wish I’d gone!
So as soon as the tickets came out this year, I bought them so I wouldn’t be disappointed. My mum, sister and I went on Sunday evening and thankfully the weather held up, if a little cold!
The Festival is a mixture of sparkling art installations and beautifully decorated trees, as well as haunting music as you make your way around the lake. It was lovely to see so many families and the little ones with lanterns.
We also got the chance to look around the Mount Stewart house, and buy food, gifts and trinkets from local producers. There is a large teepee with seating and a big open fire so a nice way to end the tour with a warming cup of hot chocolate!
The Festival of Light is on until this Sunday (29th November) so do try and get tickets if you want to experience this mystical evening!
