I first tried Lolita in Stranmillis a few months ago as Barry’s sister had bought us a voucher for a two course meal. The food was so tasty that it wasn’t long before we were back- just last week, in fact!
The restaurant is clean and spacious, with the two seater tables separated by a sheer curtain to give each couple a sense of privacy.
To begin, we shared poppodums, served with sides, including onion salad and mango chutney, and the “Chicken Chaat” which is strips of chicken served with a tangy sauce in a thin wrap. I had the Chicken Chaat the last time I was there and couldn’t resist getting it again.
For mains, we shared the ‘Chicken Garlic Chilli’, which is a spicy dish with fresh garlic, onions, ginger and coriander, and the ‘Chicken Bhuna’ which is a medium strength dish cooked with peppers, tomatoes, herbs and spices. For sides we picked the Pilau Rice and Garlic Naan. The Garlic Chilli has a good kick to it, so make sure you’re a fan of spicy food! The deep strong flavours of the bhuna was accompanied by tender pieces of chicken.
Lolita didn’t disappoint once again- we were very impressed with the food and the nice, modern atmosphere!
