Taste of Italy in Belfast- Giacomo’s

This week we decided to go Italian! On Friday night, we went to Giacomo’s restaurant which is the Italian restaurant facing the Bot on the Malone Road. Ourselves included, the place was mostly filed with couples, and neither of us had tried there before. Having bought a fantastic deal on TreatTicket, we were treated to two courses each. (The price isn’t expensive had we not had the deal, typically around £4 per starter and £10 per main). Feeling gluttonous, we went for an extra starter and shared breads with olives, risotto, and mozzarella sticks. (As a very keen risotto fan, it didn’t disappoint- not too sticky or heavy!) For mains I chose ‘Tuscan Supper’ which was chorizo, chick peas, smoked bacon and fresh spinach on tagliatelle, while Barry opted for the ‘Frutti di Mare Linguini’ which had fresh deep water shrimp, mussels and squid with capers on a bed of, you’ve guessed it, linguini! As someone who has tried on numerous occasions, but just can’t seem to enjoy sea food, I didn’t taste any of his, but really enjoyed my Tuscan Supper. (He loved his dish, by the way!) It was a nice relaxed atmosphere and am glad we checked it out!
