Time to clean up our beaches!

Last week I attended the Marks and Spencer Big Beach Clean-up at Loughshore beach in Jordanstown. As you see, it was a scorcher of a day which was perfect for the 100 or so volunteers who had turned out to do their bit! The initiative is now its third year and is a venture with the Marine Conservation Society. Pleased to report that more than 44 bags of rubbish (3265 items) were collected weighing in at a staggering 390 kg. Great result! A ‘For Sale’ sign was even found, which begs the question, “Who brings a For Sale sign to a beach?” Perhaps, we’ll never know…
